Lorenz Dangel
Classically trained in composition, Lorenz Dangel is a multi-award-winning composer renowned for his versatility, creating music for film, the concert hall, and ballet.
After the early success of his score for Tim Fehlbaum's thriller, Hell, he has since showcased his stylistic range across diverse genres, among them A Fortunate Man by Bille August, Meand Kaminsky by Wolfgang Becker, as well as the Oscar-nominated September 5, and the epic family drama Dying by Matthias Glasner in 2024, earning him his third German Film Prize for Best Music.
His latest film score is for The Carpenter's Son, a body-horror film directed by Lotfy Nathan starring Nicolas Cage, FKA Twigs, and Noah Jupe.
His collaboration with the choreographer Andrey Kaydanovskiy resulted in the orchestral ballet The Snowstorm, which premiered at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich. Summer 2024 saw the premiere of PHON, brought to life under the baton of Sir Simon Rattle and a monumental orchestra, uniting the BR Symphonieorchester with four brass ensembles.
Lorenz is defined by the joy of finding a unique musical approach for each project, drawing inspiration from the entire world of sound.
